Ethan Lee's Traditional Korean 1st Birthday in US

Ethan Lee's Traditional Korean 1st Birthday in US Tube. Duration : 4.85 Mins.

Ethan Lee's Traditional Korean 1st Birthday in US In the past, due to a lack of medical information, Korea's seasonal temperature differences, and many childhood related diseases, the death rate for children was extremely high. Many children died before their first birthday. After the age of one year, the survival rate steeply increased, making this milestone a very happy one for the child's parents. It has also been a custom to celebrate a child's 100 day birthday (baek-il) , but in most areas this birthday is less important than the Tol and any celebrations are smaller in scale. In modern times, due to the improvements in medicine, the influence of Western culture, and modern industrialization, the Shamanistic reasons for the Tol celebration have been reduced. However, the event is still celebrated as a time of congratulations for the parents and family. In the modern Tol, taking picture is an important part of the event. Many Korean families rent a room in a banquet hall. The modern celebration includes the child's parents greeting guests, lighting candles on a birthday cake, the Toljabee event, and a toast.

1st, 2nd and 3rd Birthday Party Ideas

We all look forward to our child's 1st, 2nd and 3rd Birthday celebrations. We see the special days as markers of their huge accomplishments. What better way to celebrate your child's growth and development than to have a party! A 1st birthday is really for the parents to celebrate - You made it through the first year! Your one year old probably couldn't care less what you do but decorating for guests and pictures is always fun and a great way to make memories. The 2nd and 3rd celebration is definitely a kids birthday! Toddlers do understand whats happening when it comes to their birthday and are able to communicate their excitement. "My Birthday?", "For Me?", "Tomorrow?" is all you will hear for days before the event! Believe it or not, your child's first parties will be the easiest celebrations you will throw.

The most memorable too! So Here are some survival tips for throwing a stress free birthday party for toddlers. This day is all about celebrating your little ones special day so keep it super simple and you will be able to do just that! Activities: The Golden rule for successful parties for young children is having plenty of fun activities to keep them occupied. Keeping in mind that toddlers do not fully understand rules, have short attention spans, want to constantly move around and definitely do not grasp the concept of waiting their turn, you should simply set up multiple play stations. Some great play station ideas would be a play dough table, bins of duplo & blocks, floor puzzles, ride on toys and a crayon colouring easel.

Banquet Halls

Set up a bubble blower on a high surface so bubbles are constantly floating down for the kids to catch and pop. Ball Pits are always very exciting for toddlers. If you do not have one or know anyone who might, contact your local toy library and borrow one. You can also easily make your own with a blowup plastic pool and a bag of plastic balls or several small balloons. Games: Simple games like "I Spy", "Simon Says" and "Follow the Leader" are always a big hit for the younger set. If your little one loves crafts and making gifts for mommy, try stringing round cereal like fruit loops onto yarn to make necklaces. Organize a fish pond. You can use a large bucket or a small pool filled with water and have the kids hook a prize with a fishing pole. Or, set up the fishing pond behind a blanket and have the kids drop their fishing lines into the lake. A fishing rod can be made out of a stick, some rope and a clothespin. Have another adult hidden behind the blanket to clip on their prize or loot bag.

1st, 2nd and 3rd Birthday Party Ideas

Food: Think small, safe and simple. Its impossible for the excited young guest to keep sitting still for any length of time, so none messy finger foods that can be eaten on the go are always the best for toddlers. Consider things like: Animal Crackers, Goldfish Crackers, Pretzels, Cheese Cubes, Deli Meats, Cut Veggies, Pickles, Grapes, Banana Slices and Apple Wedges. Don't forget the juice boxes! The parents attending the party will also appreciate having a selection of meats, cheeses and veggies to munch on. At this younger age, small cupcakes for the young guests is always a little less messy and easier for them to handle on their own. A cake can be made or purchased for the traditional song singing, picture taking and candle blowing and then served to the adults attending. Time Capsule: Its startling how many details and memories get lost along the way. To mark this special occasion prepare a time capsule to be opened in later years - on the 9th or 10th birthday when they are all grown up!

All you need is a shoebox or some kind of container and fill it with memories of the day. A piece of decoration, unused tableware, a copy of the guest list, a party hat - whatever is reminiscent of that day. Have some paper and pens ready for guests to write a special note to your child in the the future. Seal the box securely with packing tape and give the time capsule as a gift to your child on their birthday several years later. Most Importantly: Keep it simple, have lots of help, keep the party under 2 hours and make sure to schedule the party after nap times! And remember, have lots of fun and take tons of pictures!

30th Birthday Cake Ideas

The most common theme for 30th birthday cakes is poking fun at the birthday boy or girl for getting "old!" An over the hill cake communicates to them that they are not as young as they used to be. By using black icing, you give the cake a grim and mournful appearance that says, "you are one more year closer to death."

Another old standby is to make two cakes in the shapes of the numbers "3" and "0". Start with a regular cake mix. Divide it into two parts, as you would when making a two-layer cake. And then carve each number out of each cake once it is cool from the oven. Frost them with festive colors and sprinkles and maybe a few candles.

Banquet Halls

Everyone has a hobby or personal interest like golf, sewing or just watching TV. Decorate your 30th Birthday cake with that theme. You can buy plastic figures playing golf and ice your cake to look like a putting green. You can make thread with a thin icing dispenser and a spool by icing a large marshmallow for the one who likes to sew. Or use the shape of a rectangular cake pan to form the screen of a TV or computer and write with icing "Warning, can cause eye strain" on the cake, with an inexpensive pair of reading glasses as a gag gift.

30th Birthday Cake Ideas

Perhaps a gift you would like to give the person turning 30 is a scap book of childhood pictures. You can make the cake look like the cover of a scrapbook with a photocopy picture of the person as a child in the center of the cake. Use an icing decorating dispenser to create a border around the picture. This will hold the picture on the cake, as well.

Popular today are cakes with a smooth surface. You may wonder how to create such a look with the icings that are available in your grocery store. The secret is simple: you don't use icing, you use marshmallow cream. You can buy the cream in a jar, or with water, melt some marshmallows in the microwave until they become like icing. Put in your favorite food coloring. And this type of icing is easy to apply to a cake a create that sleek surface that an expensive cake will have. The marshmallow icing is also easy to apply different colors in a pattern like stripes or diamonds.

Birthday Party Thank You Notes

Birthday Party Thank You notes are often neglected, probably because they are thought of as a chore. But they can be fun if you give your child small cards - only a few words are necessary - and a selection of colorful stickers to use to decorate them. Choosing just the right sticker for each friend, or combining them to make a picture is a great activity for your child and will teach them a valuable social skill at the same time. If your child is too young, write the message for them.

Send your Birthday Party Thank-you note as quickly as possible. At the most, don't wait longer than a week after the party.

Banquet Halls

A hand-written note on stationary paper gives a nice personal touch that is always appreciated. It's not only considered proper etiquette, but a classy way to show your appreciation for attendance at your party or for a gift received.

Birthday Party Thank You Notes

Someone put a lot of thought and energy into choosing the right gift for the birthday boy or girl. Let the giver know how much their gift was really enjoyed. Always refer to the gift, such as "Thank you so much for the blue beach ball."

Send it via snail mail (the old fashioned way).

Thank-you Note samples:

Dear Hayley,

Thank-you for coming to my birthday party - you made the day that much more special.
Thanks so much for the awesome jigsaw puzzle!
Regards
Ned

Dear Daniel,
Just wanted to Thank You for helping me celebrate my birthday last week.
I love the car book! It's fabulous and I'm already enjoying reading it!
Regards
Digby

Tip: If you received a gift that is not exactly to your taste, you should still show appreciation for the thought that went into selecting it for you. You can always say...

Dear Tyler,
"Thank you for the bucket and spade.
I will always think of you whenever I use it."
Regards
Digby.

Menu Ideas For The 21st Birthday Party Event!

The meal served for a rowdy 21st birthday is going to be a very simple one. It needs to involve little more than dialing up a local restaurant. Sometimes a small gathering or just dinner for two is more to the taste of the guest of honor, though.

When this is the case an intimate candle lit dinner is fine. The menu should reflect the favorite foods of the guest of honor. If this is hamburgers or pizza then these are going to need a considerable upgrade. Try this. Ask the butcher for the best cut of steak within budget. Have it ground like hamburger. Mix that in equal parts with the best fresh hamburger. Have the baker make an order of fresh hamburger buns. Then prepare those hamburgers better than any other burger ever eaten! Use only the best fresh toppings and serve all the toppings in a build-to-order bar. If pizza is the favorite meal try the same tactic. Use the best cheeses, meats and sauce available. Serve with a salad that would be a meal in itself.

Banquet Halls

When the 21st birthday party is of the more casual kind, use only disposable and paper party supplies. Guests at the 21st birthday party are still young at heart and might enjoy the kind of menu they have loved throughout their youth. Bowls of chips and packaged dip are still expected. They might even appreciate candy dishes overflowing with childhood favorites. With this crowd, however, introduce the sandwich platter of deli meats. A good selection of meats and cheeses will quickly disappear as will the contents of the pickle tray. A similar fate may await those cut up vegetable--usually broccoli, carrots, celery and cauliflower.

Menu Ideas For The 21st Birthday Party Event!

Dress up the house or rented hall with colorful birthday banners! And don't forget the birthday cake.
